A Voice for Michigan
My name is Josh Derke, and I'm a native Michiganian. I graduated from Bath High School in 2006 with high honors, and received a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Michigan. While there, I volunteered my time for many causes, including registering people to vote. I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature. Since then, I've been pursuing a career as a Physician Assistant, gathering the required experience necessary to attend one of the prestigious programs throughout Michigan.

Michigan has its own campaign finance laws with limits on contribution amounts for candidates. If elected, I will be a staunch advocate for campaign finance laws and sensible policies on money in our politics. When money equals speech, only the rich will have a voice. As a candidate, I haven’t attempted to raise money from any special interests, nor will I. State Representatives answers to the people that elect them, and need to listen to the issues that are important to their constituents. Their best interests come first, before the big-spending agendas of moneyed interests.
